CERN EU projects >> Guidelines for EU projects
These guidelines are divided into the following topics:

The purpose of these guidance notes is to make an overview of the various stages of preparation, submission, and follow-up of EU projects under the 7th Framework Programme (FP7), which provides co-funding for a number of activities in different fields of interest to CERN, such as accelerator R&D, training of young researchers, Grid development, etc.
There are other EU programmes offering frameworks for scientific and technical cooperation, training and education, such as the European Science Foundation (ESF), the European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST), the Erasmus-Mundus programme. For various reasons these programmes are of somewhat limited relevance to CERN, and will not be dealt with hereafter.
The Guide for Applicants, published for each FP7 Call for Proposals, contains detailed instructions for the preparation of proposals, which may have different structure and/or content depending on the type of projects (the funding scheme). In all cases, reading carefully the Guide for Applicants is a prerequisite for the preparation of any EU project.
The internal procedures for approval and submission of FP7 projects with the participation of CERN are described in two Executive Memoranda – one for Marie Curie projects [pdf], and one for all other types of projects [pdf]. |
The EU Projects Office is at disposal for any further requests and advice that may be needed during the proposal preparation and implementation phase.
