Guidelines for applicants

INTRO - IDEA - PREPARATION - EVALUATION - CONTRACT - FOLLOW-UP - IPR

The purpose of these guidance notes is to make an overview of the various stages of preparation, submission, and follow-up of EU projects under H2020, which provides co-funding for a number of activities in different fields of interest to CERN, such as accelerator & detector R&D, training of young researchers, Grid/Cloud computing, etc.

There are other EU programmes offering frameworks for scientific and technical cooperation, training and education, such as the European Science Foundation (ESF), the European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST), the Erasmus+ programme. For various reasons these programmes are of somewhat limited relevance to CERN, and will not be dealt with hereafter.

Detailed instructions for the preparation of proposals, including eligibility and evaluation conditions, proposal templates can be found on the call description page, under call documents.

The internal procedures for approval and submission of H2020 projects with the participation of CERN are described in the following Executive Memoranda – for Marie Skłodowska-Curie projects, for ERC grants and for all other types of projects.

CERN PIC number to be used for all EU programmes, including H2020 and Erasmus+ : 999988133
